BYU!!!!

Last Friday Shelby got this email:

Dear Student,

Thank you for your application to attend Brigham Young University. We are pleased to announce that admissions decisions will be finalized by the end of next week. Notifications will be sent electronically by Feb. 19.We deeply appreciate your interest in attending BYU; we are striving to admit as many freshmen as possible. We have processed a record number of applications. Unfortunately, due to enrollment limitations, more students will be disappointed this year than in years past.

We were a little nervous - Shelbs has great grades, good ACT score but still - this left her feeling SCARED!

Then Wednesday we got this email:

Dear Shelby:

The Admissions Committee is delighted to inform you that you have been admitted to Brigham Young University to begin Fall 2010. Through your preparation and personal achievements you have distinguished yourself from a very strong group of applicants. We believe you will make a positive contribution to our BYU community. It is a great pleasure to welcome you to our campus to pursue your educational goals......

There was a whole lot of screaming for joy going on at our house

Congrats Shelbs - we knew you could do it

(now lets hope that scholarship happens this month!!!)
