Homecoming

Last week was Alta's Homecoming - Shelbs tried to take advantage of it all. She really is trying to get the most out of her High School Years.

Monday she danced at the Homecoming Assembly - she had great support with both Grandmothers, her Aunt Neta, Cousin Lizzy, (Thanks so much for coming) Nickster and me coming to watch her - we all agreed her group was the best (no bias here!)

Thursday she participated in Powder Puff Football! - (she is a little competitive)

It was the traditional White (Juniors) vs Black (Seniors)

Shelbs showing she's got game

Congratulations from the Coaches
(hmmm, maybe cute Junior boys for coaches was the real reason for participating!)

She had lots of friends playing with her

Friday she danced in the half-time show of the big game and did great

Saturday she had a marathon date - (we weren't quite ready for). Her date called at 9:00 am and told her that instead of 1:00 pm he was coming at 9:30 am to pick her up, and wear something she could get dirty in ????! She rushed like crazy and was ready when he came to get her - A day of paint balling with 11 other couples took place from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm. At 5:00 Shelbs ran through the front door with large welts from the paint balls covering a large percentage of her body (OUCH!) and headed for the shower, her date was returning at 6:00 pm to pick her up - Obviously, Shelbs date had not noticed the over abundance of hair Shelbs has and the amount of blow drying necessary to get it dry. Poor kid showed up at 6:00 and had to visit with Big Daddy for 20 minutes while me and Shelbs rushed to get her ready - poor girl no time for fancy up-dos just the mama trying to curl her hair and give her a pedicure while she put on some makeup and gave herself a manicure - But she did look beautiful in her gorgeous dress Grandmother had given her for her 16th Birthday (just a little post-birthday gift).

She returned at 11:55 pm - Good girl, made curfew with 5 minutes to spare. She was excited to share details of her date which included a 7 course catered Italian Dinner, Rock Climbing (someone in their group has an actual 30 ft rock climbing wall in their house (what in the world!)), and of course being the prettiest girl at the dance (OK, I added that) but she did have a great time at the dance. She was exhausted but proclaimed it was her best date ever!

I'm glad she had such a fun Homecoming week.

Yey! We finally get to see gorgeous Shelby--no doubt, she's the belle of the dance. What a lucky guy! We love you Shelbs!

Oh my goodness--she is a doll! What a fun day/te. I'm impressed her date only had to wait for 20 minutes. She looks fab!

Wow after reading about her week we can say that she is a lot like her mom. She looked so beautiful in her gown. I am glad that her welts didn't show up anywhere noticeable.

Did the juniors beat the seniors then?
